BLANK - A screen blanker for Microsoft Windows 3.0
To install:
Copy the files BLANK.EXE and MSGHOOK.DLL to wherever you keep your
Windows program files. The \WINDOWS directory will be fine. Then start
BLANK.EXE in the usual way. I put Blank on the LOAD line in my WIN.INI
so it starts every time I run Windows.
To use:
BLANK is a very simple Windows screen blanker. It was written in Borland
C++. Basically, it just sits at the bottom of the screen until one of
two things happen: One, the time out limit you specify expires, or two,
you move your mouse cursor all the way down to the lower, right corner
of the screen. At that point, Blank blacks out the screen and begins
moving an icon around at a speed you can specify. You can also change
the icon displayed.
To customize Blank, click once on its icon. A menu will appear, choose
settings. In the dialog box that is displayed, you can change the time
out interval and the icon speed. You can also disable the elapsed time
display shown under the icon. Clicking "Change Icon" will bring up
another dialog box. You are presented with a list of .ICO files in the
current subdirectory of the current drive. This is a typical file open
dialog box. To preview an icon, click preview, otherwise click OK or
Cancel. Click OK again to save all you changes to blank.ini. This
program is freeware...enjoy!
Special thanks to the Micorsoft Windows Developer's support team on CIS
for help on creating an icon resource from an .ICO file.
